Following the updated Gatsby Benchmarks and the revised Statutory Guidance in May this year from the Department for Education, the national assessment criteria was revised over August and now takes full account of these changes. There are now assessment criteria for schools, special schools, alternative provision and sixth form colleges and separate criteria for further education colleges and independent training providers. Any school or college registering with IIC from September will be working towards the new assessment criteria. Those learning providers currently working towards the Standard will remain as is and any final assessment judgements will be based on the previous assessment criteria. The changes to the criteria are not extensive but providers will notice a couple of new additions and, more importantly a streammlined approach to the evidence requirements.
